Band Program
At our school, we believe that music education is a vital part of a well-rounded education. Our band program provides students with the chance to explore music, develop their talent and skills, and create a sense of community through music-making.
We offer a comprehensive band program for students 6th grade – 12th grade, from beginner to symphonic to jazz. Our program includes:
In addition to our band classes, we offer several performance opportunities throughout the year, including concerts, the homecoming parade, and competitions.
Our experienced and dedicated band director provide personalized instruction and support to each student in our program. We are committed to fostering a love of music and helping our students reach their full potential as musicians.
We believe that music education is not just about learning to play an instrument, but also about developing important life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and creativity. We are proud of the well-rounded and talented individuals that emerge from our band program.

Band Program Leadership

Mackenzie Mowry
Mrs Mowry earned her Associate of Arts from Daytona State College and her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Central Florida. Before coming to Trinity, she worked as the elementary music teacher at Middleburg Elementary School. She is an active participant in the Jacksonville arts community and plays clarinet in the First Coast Wind Ensemble. Her goals are to create lifelong musicians and point students to God through excellent music education. She is passionate about music and has experience performing on clarinet, oboe, flute, saxophone, and piano. Some of her hobbies include hiking, horseback riding, learning new instruments, and reading. She is married to her middle school sweetheart, Luke. They live in Jacksonville along with their two cats, Buddy and Nabisco.

Max Cordell
After completing 47 years as the full time band director at Trinity Christian Academy Mr. Cordell semi- retired in 2021 and has taken the position of assistant director and director emeritus. He has also taught at Bob Jones Academy in Greenville, South Carolina and Athens Christian School in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Cordell holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University and a masters in Music Education from The University of Georgia. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) and the Florida Band Director’s Association (FBA). Mr. Cordell is also actively involved in the music ministry at Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville where he plays in the church orchestra and leads the singing in his Sunday school class. Mr. Cordell is married to his wife Joan who teaches piano lessons at Trinity. They have three children and four grandchildren. Mr. Cordell was recognized in the School Band and Orchestra magazine as one of the top 50 directors making a difference in 2018.

Clayton Barnett
Clayton Barnett is graduate of Trinity Christian Academy and a former member of the marching and symphonic band. He is an accomplished drummer on battery percussion and drum set and also sings and plays guitar. He currently is the worship leader for the youth group at Trinity Baptist Church.

Ms. Tidmore
Ms. Tidmore is the color guard instructor for the Conquerors Marching Band.
